Puzzle #57 - Bits & Pieces - Harvest Kitchen - 300 pieces

Puzzle #57 of 2023
Finished October 16, 2023

This puzzle came as part of a set of puzzles by John Sloane.  Happy, simple, seasonal puzzles.  Just the right fit for certain times.  And I love that you get a poster for each puzzle with this set of 4.

I was frustrated to notice (and then remember this is what they do) that the poster cuts off a good portion of the edge of the puzzle image.  You can see the difference along the top edge from the poster above and the box lid/actual puzzle image below.  So you have to look at the tiny picture on the box to see the edges.  It is no big deal... I get it, but it annoys the dickens out of me.  Why not print the full image on the poster?

This was a fun and quick puzzle - although I worked on it over 2 days, it was probably only 90 minutes total.  Wanted something 'fall' and this fit the bill.  Trickier in spots than you might think but not frustrating to me like these were when I first started puzzling. (the offset image on pieces that used to be so hard for my brain is not nearly as hard now - hoping that means my brain is improving and growing!)  :)

Puzzle #56 - Buffalo Games - Charles Wysocki Prairie Wind Flowers - 1000 pieces

Puzzle #56 of 2023
Finished October 14, 2023

Nice puzzle.  I do love Charles Wysocki puzzles.  Lots to look at while putting the puzzle together.  It is a Buffalo so that means there were some mis-fits... but there weren't as many in this puzzle as in previous ones.  That top tier was the toughest part - with the trees and sky.  The rest was just pleasant, methodical putting in of the pieces.  And of course, one of my very favorite things... a HUGE poster.  So happy about that!

Puzzle #55 - Gibsons - Treats at the Station - 1000 pieces

Fun puzzle so far.  More of a challenge than I was expecting, too!  Love the thickness of Gibsons puzzle pieces.  They fit together so well and you never have any confusion about that. Colors are clear and bright.  Thinking the rest of this puzzle will continue to be even more of a challenge than what I have put together so far.  But it is a fun experience.  I do love the British scenes.

Very fun puzzle.  A nice challenge but never frustrating.  I did sort by shape at the end, but just because.

Puzzle #54 - White Mountain - Seaside Dreams - 1000 pieces

Puzzle #54 of 2023
Finished October 7, 2023

Hope this is a fun one.  I have previously loved the oversized pieces and overall big size of White Mountain puzzles.  Recently I am tired of it filling my entire puzzle board.  We shall see how I feel about this one.  The image looks really fun, but a bit too cluttered.  However, it is hard to beat White Mountain quality and I do love David Maclean.  So I imagine it will be a good experience.

always happy with a poster  :)

Generally speaking, WM puzzles are just a good formula... you can plug along with the pieces.  You can work in sections and you can pick up pieces and figure out where they go.  It is a relaxing puzzle process that keeps your mind active but isn't too frustrating.  This puzzle does seem a bit looser fit than most WM, but it is okay.

Completed!  Very nice puzzle.  A good David Maclean image.  So many fun things to look at while putting the puzzle together.  Lots of great detail and color.  I do love the large size of the pieces of a WM - you can really see what is on each one so well.

Puzzle #53 - Gibsons - Rag and Bone - the Goldfish - 500 pieces

Puzzle #53 of 2023
Finished October 3, 2023

This was one puzzle out of a set of 4 in a grouping called 'Rag and Bone' by Gibsons.  I love their multi-sets, even though I typically avoid boxed multi-sets.  But Gibsons includes posters in theirs, so I like that.  :)

This was exactly the puzzle I needed next (after Paris Rooftop View).  It was a nice, relaxing image and was a high quality puzzle but not overwhelming or too tough. I love British images and this one did not disappoint.  Gibson puzzles are thick and wonderful to work with.  The only downside is that although there are 4 posters in this set, 2 of the posters are the same image so we are missing one poster for one puzzle.  I'll still do it even though I'll be relying on the tiny image on the box.  High quality so I can see doing it.  But that was disappointing to discover.  Love the thick pieces - they are hard to dismantle, though!
