Puzzle #59 - Cavallini & Co - Vintage National Parks - 1000 pieces

Puzzle #59 - Cavallini & Co - Vintage National Parks - 1000 pieces

Excited about this one!  First time with this company.  Liking the pieces (sturdy and good image quality).  But didn't pay attention that it is a portrait style so too big for my puzzle board.  I think (hope) I have figured out how to make it work - used a 22x28 poster board laid down over the puzzle board.  Says puzzle is 22x28 so will go edge to edge.  But it seems like it will keep things together better than trying to go off the top edge of the puzzle board.  (tried that and it felt like it was a bad idea...)  :)

I'm very much enjoying this puzzle.  Realized I have a few more portrait style puzzles I'm going to want to do so ordered a puzzle mat that can be used (a bit sturdier than the poster board I am using for this one).  The pieces are quality and the images are good although it is actually quite challenging.  Several things look quite similar so it takes a bit of detection to figure out which section a piece goes to.  (for some, especially the red/rust/brown ones)  I do like this company so will try to get more, but when I looked online they are about 90% portrait view.  Thus, the new puzzle mat that is coming soon.  :)

Paired with Stag's Leap Chardonnay.  :)  Nicely done.  :)

SO enjoyable!  I do apparently like collages - but not every single time.  However, when I work on a collage I always have a good time and never have to hammer anything out.  I guess that is the whole nature of collages, isn't it?  No big expanses you have to figure out. The bear was the trickiest part but wasn't bad in any way.  Just kind of normal concentrated hard.  The browns/rusts/reds were a mix and also the blues... so good challenge.  But nothing at all frustrating.  It allowed me to enjoy looking at the images and thinking about all the National Parks I have visited (and are depicted here) and several that I have yet to visit (that are depicted here) that are now up high on my list!!  :)  Acadia National Park in Maine, Yosemite and Sequoia and Glacier, too.  I really should add the Everglades to my list - even though I typically just want to head west from here. :)  Super fun puzzle and will definitely get more from Cavallini & Co.   Pieces are Ribbon Cut, sturdy and Interlocking - and very minimal puzzle dust.

Paired with Stags Leap Napa Valley 2020 Chardonnay - VERY good.
